  • Windows 3DsMax 2013 nodes problem

    Hi guys,
We are testing 2013 64bits on our renderfarm and we have trouble having them running through DR.
They starts but almost instantly closed and the DR daemon stats them again and so on...
    Any idea ?
Our 2012 run smoothly on the same machine.

Of course it may not be related to Vray, but maybe someone ran against the same issue...

    Thanks.

    Tang

You need to run at least one backburner render with those machines as render slaves before you can use DR successfully.

Yes, it's always been like that. Initially it was a big puzzle for us as well, but Da_Elf stumbled upon the backburner solution...

                Best regards,

                  Ok, thank you.
In fact I think I was lucky the pasts years becasue I was always installing by default BB. But this time, when I upgraded our farm, I was going for minimal installation. We use Smedge so we never use again BB.
                  Good to know !
                  Thanks you Vlado and Da_Elf

ohh. it is! Never had to do it before.. weird.

                    - Not a bad idea with the bold letters though, seriously! this is quite important.

we have same problem here. we couldn't figure out what to do with backburner. we did not need to do something like that earlier versions of max and vray. what has changed?

Nothing has changed. It has always been this way since 3ds Max 5.

Ok then; can you find the file Max.log somewhere in the c:\Users folder (you might need to enable searching for hidden files as well) - can you send me this file to vlado@chaosgroup.com ?

                              Best regards,
