  • Vray Lens Effects in Alpha

    Hi All,

Sorry if this has been posted before, i've done a search here and on CG Talk and haven't found an answer:

I'm using the Vray Glare and Bloom Lens Effects for an animated sequence. Looks great!
My problem though, is i'm trying to find a way to 'burn' the lens effects into the alpha of my render.

    I've attached a picture:

On the top right you can see the RGB Beauty render with the Glare and Bloom, but the Alpha channel of my render does not include the glows & cuts these effects out!
How can I solve this issue?

    Regards,

Anyone? I can try to add these glows later in compositing, but would prefer to 'burn' them into my renders - i am rendering with the VrayStereoScopic Helper.

Im not quite sure how vray handles this kind of effect, in any case it would not be able to create a proper alpha. That is why any of these effects are best achieved in comp. Nuke can do both eyes just as easily.

We had some discussions internally, but it's not as easy as one might think to define a meaningful alpha channel in this case... will think about it though.
