  • Preparing direct light manager - Just sits there

Im having problems with a very large render I am outputting. It is a fairly simple scene with a robot and chair. No other geometry. I did read that this problem may be caused by displacement so I turned it off completely to check but it still does the same thing.

I've even tried isolating just one object in the scene but max just sits there with the same message. I'm assuming it is the resolution that max/vray is having trouble with but as I said it's a fairly simple scene and I have 24gb of ram.

    Anyone got any ideas ?

    Using vray 2.10.01 and max 2012 64bit.
    Regards

Render to a .vrimg file; turn off the "Memory frame buffer option"; turn off the setting to take the resolution from 3ds Max; and finally set the 3ds Max output resolution itself to a low value like 100x100. Then see if this helps

    Best regards,
    Vlado
