  • ipad movie render resolution

    Hello,

I need to make a short 2 minute movies render for an Ipad (architecture exterior walkthrough).
Of course, I will prefer to lower the resolution to avoid long render time.

Can you share your experience regarding the best resolution, frame rate and codec for this purpose?

    Thanks for your advice

well it depends for which ipad? The ipad3 has double the resolution than the ipad2 (which is higher than full hd by the way)
    Kind Regards,
    Morne

      Thanks,

well let's start with v2. The v3 resolution will take forever.
I was thinking of smaller resolution,i.e. 640x480, so it will be faster.
It will then be rescale on the fly by the player of the device (mp4/codec H264?).
I just hope it will not be too pixelized!

everything I play on my New i-Pad looks so much better. I have played older animations, that I prepared for the web, and it looks great. The form factor of the i-Pad is small enough that you don't have to do anything different for it to look great. Now, when 4k TV's go mainstream, things might change.
