vray 1.5 sp5 slaves don´t render scene/ have to restart max

hi

i have a little problem with the slaves rendering DR (max2011 sp2 vray 1.5 sp5)
they show connected, but don´t start to render. i have to kill max task manually , then they show ...loading...starting frame.
i think it has to do with multiscatter...
i think max does not restart at the slaves...

any ideas? i have ticked the " restart max after rendering" button

Hello,
Could you post the V-Ray log file from the workstation and one of the slaves, right after you get this error.
Does the issue persist particular or with this scene only?
Did you try "Check for missing files" option in the V-Ray Settings roll-out.

as i told the log says...slave xx connected....no sending file nor starting frame...
i checked "check for missing files" and same procedure as before...no missing file (i checked asset tracker before)

i have the feeling that problem is caused by multiscatter...
slaves max does not get restarted after rendering...i have to do it manually...

Hi,
Did you try to make distributed rendering with same scene without the multiscatter plugin?
Could you check your License settings for the slave machine -"Change V-Ray client license settings", if it's properly set.
Do you start the V-Ray spawner manually or is run as a service?

okai...

seems multiscatter is the problem...
maxscene is 110000mb (18 mill tree faces)...2 multiscatterobjects each has maxcount=1100 / 3 polyobjects (one poly is about 29000 faces).

scene resets after 20 (twenty) minutes...without the 2 multiscatters i get directly scene reset.

jo...this went better with never max/vray/multiscatter?

anything i can do now?

Hi Thomes,
The problem is localized now.
It will be very helpful if you post the V-Ray log file from the workstation and one of the slaves, so we can investigate further.
You can also try to set "Dynamic memory limit" to "0".
Is your multiscatter objects animated?

You can try to manually delete the scene transferred to the slaves (which "restart on render ends" option do) from folder: C:\Users\_account name_\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\2012 - 64bit\enu\temp.

thats nearly what i do, or not? ...i kill max-task at the slaves every new rendering manually as i told in the first post...that´s quite annoying...
which log detail do you need ? 3 or 4?

Hi,
You can post the "%TEMP%\VRayLog.txt" from server and one of the slaves, it has all the information (Levels).
Do you use Instances or Copies for your multiscatter objects?

3 separate objects for both multiscatters...not animated

can not upload files...to post inline and to upload TOO big for textfile...about 2.5 mb...
