i can work in max while it shows ...saving...

hi

i have a special big problem, not seen in the last years...i think it´s not vray-related.

if i want to send the file to backburner it shows saving file...forever...i can check other buttons in the backburner sending dialog, for example advanced...
same if i want to save file to harddisk...it shows saving while i can work in max...the saved file is corrupt when i want to load it.

i tried to merge everything into a new maxfile...same thing.

i tried to gc()

think there is something corrupt in the file.

any ideas what i can do other than merging half then next half and checking out to find the thing...?

working fine after disabling auto save option.. I know it is a risk but got a good habit of saving file frequently

i don´t feel that it´s the same, but i will give it a try on monday...in hope...

but i think i have to sort out some corrupt object...

btw... if it helps... i was able to send the file- lightcalculation to backburner , no problem, then i wanted to send the rendering with loading the irrmap to backburner, it hanged on saving the file...when i broke up the backburner-sending progress it showed... file corrupt...then i was no more able to save it to HD....

never try to kill the process while saving. If at all it stuck, go to file location & copy paste it somewhere else so if you kill & fill get corrupt at least you have a saved copy. I have lost lot of my work initially.. Once corrupt file size is only 16kb which means nothing.. Anyways, i hope Vlado will comeback to your with some solution soon, he is an ultimate savior Good luck!

hi

this morning i shut my workstation down and started it up ...loaded file,tried again and same error...i tried to save the old file again to HD without making any changes...and suddenly it had about 15 MB less...
i looked for the total object amount and it was the same...so now i coul´d submit to backburner...and i work with this file...i save every now and then manually a NEW file...

for now it looks like it´s working...hope i didn´t loose something...

today i had the same problem again...saving the maxfile in backburner broke up...sandglass was gone...and still showing saving...

so i hopefully found out the problem ...

if i changed the mode to ...from file... and this file was not present, i got this error...

so i made a fake file with the same name checked this and got it submitted...after that i coul´d also save file to HD...after that i deleted the temp-vrmap file...

did not have this before...it was the same if this file was there or not.

It might be a clue as to what's going on; will try to replicate this here.
