  • Backburner: Camera defined but not found

    Hi all,
I am doing an animation and I do have a strange problem:

For one of my camera paths, backburner shows an error and tells me 'Camera defined but not found'

Well, the camera is definitely there!

Now I did a search on the web but none of the 'reasons' I found there seems to apply:

    1. Camera is not 'xref'-ed in
    2. Camera name is not long
    3. It's a vray camera and not a standard one

Any ideas what is going on?

    Help is greatly appreciated!

I don't know if this is the case here but there are some characters that you can't use for camera names. I remember backburner wouldn't render from a camera that had an apostrophe in the name.

I had this very same issue recently. As Dan said, it might be to do with your camera name - from memory I think I resolved my issue by removing any spaces from the camera name.

The path name contains only letters and one number.
I recreated the camera from scratch (by aligning to the old one) and now the frames render black (although they shoudn't).
I will try and remove the spaces too...

I will report once I figure out what's going on.

It's strange that the new camera you've created also has problems. Another thought, are you using batch render by any chance? I've have problems with it when using XRefs.

Oops, it's what happens when you do things in a rush:
When I created the new camera, I forgot to adjust the shutter speed. For some bizarre reason it was set to 0.

            My bad.

All working now! Recreating the camera did it.
