  • Proxies not casting shadows

    Hi all

I have a couple of proxies that appears to not be casting any shadows. Could it be that the original object, before it was made into a proxy was set to not cast shadows? If this is the case, is there a way to tell the proxy to DO PRETTY PLEASE cast shadows? If that is not the reason for not casting shadows, what else can I check?

The proxie's properties says that it casts shadows, but it certainly is NOT doing it!
In the image, it's those grass type of things I'm talking about. The white flowers also appears to have a "mass blob" as a shadow instead of nice sharp shadows like the wall and bush in the foreground.

    Place is lit with vraysun.

(Also, how can I attach images to show full size, so you don't have to click this thumbnail 1st?)
    Kind Regards,
    Morne

I checked the original objects. They're properties is set to cast shadows. So why are my proxies not? Can it be that the objects are too small maybe? Is there something I have to set in the vraysun maybe? Currently my vraysun has default settings. My scene units are in meter, and display units in mm

the bushy grassy proxies and sun are IN my scene. The building and terrain (flat grass) is in a XREF. The xref is set to exclude it's own lights

          SOLVED!

I changed the default shadow bias of the sun of 200mm, down to 50mm and now I have shadows
          Kind Regards,
