  • Vray to Nuke, Nuke cannot read all channels?

    Hi all

I have posted this in the nuke forum as well as I am not sure where the issue is originating.

Basically i render my scene in max, all is fine and in the vray frame buffer I can see all my passes, however with nuke some are not showing, specifically the "mm_" elements?

Im not sure if this is vray not saving the exr correctly or nuke not reading correctly?

    Any ideas?

    Any help much appreciated!

    Thanks

Judging by the looks in the VFB you might be hitting a name length limitation. This is dependent on the EXR version used with VRay and Nuke. The limit used to be pretty low. Try shortening the names to see if this is the problem.

    Thorsten

Worked a treat! Thanks for that, so it was neither vray nor Nukes fault I guess. Crazy in 2012 with all this RAM and hard drive space we still have character length limitations.

        Anyway, thanks again, much appreciated!

        Will.
