  • VRay AO Plugin & Network Rendering 2013

We have just upgraded to Max 2013 and use Marc Lorenz's AO plugin for VRay but the new way that Autodesk have set the Network Rendering option prevents the plugin from being used over the network. Has anyone seen this and found a solution ?

    Thanks

Hm, I don't think Autodesk changed anything in a radical way... what is the problem exactly?

    Best regards,

The plugin has a dedicated Render button separate from the 3DS Max render button see attached.

In previous versions of max all I had to do was tick the box for Network Render then hit Render on the AO plugin and it would render over the Network , now I cannot do that.

Do you think there is a way to solve this, I am pretty sure Marc Lorenz doesn't work on this plugin anymore but I am not sure.

      Thanks

        Hi,

Probably you can make it work if you use a script.
Open MAXScript Listener, delete everything inside, add " rendusenet=true" and hit Enter to execute. Now you can close the script listener.
This will enable network rendering like in older max versions.
