  • Displacement alignment

I'm trying to displace bricks into a simple plain object. I am using BerconTile as it has lots of nice controls for brick size/pattern etc, and it ties in nicely with Multitexture. However, I always have issues with the displaced joints being misaligned with the joints in the diffuse map.

If you take a look at the attached graphic, you will see the issue.

How can I improve on this?

EDIT: Actually, I'm not sure its to do with alignment. Even if I switch off the diffuse map and render just the displaced geometry with a simple grey colour, you can see that the joints vary in size. Why is this?

Are you using Tiling or RealWorld Map Size on the material? It doesn't play well with VRay 2D displacement.

Here's a screen grab. The BerconTile is currently using Explicit Map Channel 2D. Is this correct? You can see how the joint lines are completely un even from course to course.

I've never used BerconTile, not sure if it can cause these problems with 2D displacement.

Could it be related to the displacement resolution setting?
