  • Whites in VrayGI RE above beauty

    Hola,

in our current project we found a strange issue and now I am trying to double check if this is due to us missing something or if there might be an issue. elsewhere. Here's our situation:

We rendered a shot with Render Elements, including a VRayGlobalIllumination Element. Now, the strange thing is in this element, there are some white values > 1,0 and these are larger than the values at the exact same places in the beauty pass. Our compositor then tried to recreate something similar as the GI Element by substracting all the other elements we have from the beauty and gets close, but it still looking very differnet than the VRay GI Element.

Do you have any idea what might be going on there? Thanks for anything that could point me into the right direction.

its hard to say what is wrong, without a part of your scene or at least some images to show the problem. Were all the shaders vray materials, or did you happen to have 3ds max raytrace material somewhere? were any shaders/lights producing any overbright warnings?

As Morbid Angel said - it is very difficult to localize the issue without having your scene and your composition.
Could you please attach your scene / render elements / and composition? A few images showing the difference between composition and beauty pass would be very helpful.
If the scene is confidential - please write to vray@chaosgroup.com and we can provide you our FTP server.
