Hair and Fur error

I have a scene with a plane in it. The plane is extruded at the sides and then I have a hair and fur mod on it. Whenever I try to render the attached error pops up.

Any ideas ?

I cannot post the full scene because it is a project in process and has a lot of proxies etc. I have found that if I have the rug isolated with a few other bits it renders fine. If I try rendering the full scene with all proxies it will always crash. It seems to be a memory issue.

I can send just the rug on its own if that is of any use ? If so, what email address do I send it to ?

Have this problem too. It is scene depending. I have a rug that renders OK in one scene
but in other scene it crashes MAX in the end of render proces.

Very strange. I decided to give hair and fur a miss and go with vray fur where I'm getting fairly good results.

I do however still have crashes with this scene during pre-pass so will try and zip it all together and send across. Even in max 2013 its happening.
