Hello all,
We are rendering a pretty simple scene of a cashew nut flying through the air and we've got some SSS on it. The flicker is definitely exclusively on the SSS pass, but increasing the prepass rate (which has fixed this problem in the past for us) doesn't seem to help, we've got it on 4, and the render time is starting to explode. From 16 minutes a frame to over an hour.
other than the prepass what settings contribute to flicker?
the model is very high poly, beause it is very detailed and we opted to just render the several million poly version straight from mudbox instead of exporting a lower one and using displacement to get the high res one. could that play a role?
increasing the samples on the lights?
We are using the nederhorst settings, and the beauty without SSS is totally fine and flicker free.
Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!
