  • Best way to set up Windows Firewall

Is there a clear set of instructions on how to officially set up Windows Firewall. In the past I've set up an Incoming Connection for the program "VRLService.exe" on local port 30304 using TCP and that seems to have worked. However this was achieved mostly through trial and error. Is there a solid reference on how to officially set up the firewall?

(Sorry this shouldn't be posted under Problems -- I had a problem initially but I fixed it).

I would not really recommend turning it off, even if you are behind another firewall already. It should be enough to add the vrlservice.exe application to the list of allowed programs (i.e. go to Control Panel > Windows Firewall > Allow a program or feature through Window Firewall > Allow another program... > Browse... > navigate to the vrlservice.exe program.
