  • Material ID in Reflections

How can I get the material ID of the objects that are reflected in a mirror using PSD manager?

    Thank you,

    JP

You need to set the "affect channels" option for reflections in the V-Ray material to "all channels"; then V-Ray will attempt to reflect all render elements through the reflection.

    Best regards,

Depends if you output MultiMatte render elemenst via psd-manager or use the G-Buffer based Material IDs output feature of psd-manager. The solution Vlado suggested will influence the MultiMatte, but unfortunately not the data V-Ray puts in the G-Buffer. So you may have to switch to using MultiMatte render elements.

Dans, thank you for the clarification. We need to be able to color calibrate the materials that appear reflected in a mirror. So we use PSD manager to generate the Photoshop masks. We would need the masks to also appear inside the reflected elements. Will this be possible with the MultiMatte method you are suggesting?
