Periodically one of my slaves renders with the wrong gamma. it's intermediate and rebooting the slave's spawner solves it, but why is it happening? It's an easy fix, but after rendering all night just to see lighter boxes, is painful.

stopping/starting the vray spawner worked, and now it's rendering correctly but it shouldn't happen.Originally posted by Morbid Angel View Posttry blow away 3ds max prefs dir and see if that helps.Bobby Parker

I get it happening every now and then. I don't know what causes it but it seems to happen when I cancel a render and re-start immediately. It's like the scene has failed to update or be sent over to the slaves for some reason. Annoying! If it's persistent then I just re-start my local copy of max and it seems to work...
It would be good to know why this happens...

Agreed. I ALWAYS wait around to watch my render kick off before heading home because of this issue but batch renders are another story... I can often spot the problem occurring during the IR pass which either means the IR map calc is the issue, or that we have a separate issue although it does appear like the slave is using the wrong gamma...

yes. that is checked. I can start/stop dozes of times, usually without any issues, but once in awhile I'll get this issue.Originally posted by tashko.zashev View PostDo you use the option "Restart slaves on render end", which should help?Bobby Parker

it's happening again, now! How do I reset the irradiance map?Originally posted by tashko.zashev View PostHi,
Can you try to use "Reset" irradiance map button the next time you see this issue instead of restarting the render slave?
And let us know if this solves it.Bobby Parker
