  • DR Node not using full CPU

I'm using distributed rendering and my render node seems to be peaking at 25-30% CPU usage, whilst my workstation is on 100% CPU load. I can't think of any reason it would be doing this? There are no other processes using the render node, only VRay/max. Consequently all 16 of the render nodes buckets (dual quad core xeon with HT) are moving very, very slowly in comparison to my Quad core (HT enabled) i7.

    Any ideas?

Just a thought; my workstation has 16gb RAM, the render node has 12GB. Could it be that the render node is "unloading geometry" to cope with the scene? I wish we could have more info on what the render nodes are actually doing.

Hmmm, Rebooted the server and on the third time it's now using 100% CPU. Didn't on the first few reboots though, very odd indeed as I've not changed anything.
