Any news on a solution to this? We are having the same issue with a HDR (with a sun in it) on a vraydomelight.
    Kind Regards,

If we were to do this, it would take away a big part of the subtlety achieved when using a HDR.

We just had the same problem here

We ender up having to use the sub pixel mapping, and clamping at 3-4, and dupe the HDR vraydomelight. uncheck the reflection in the original domelight and only affect the reflection in the second dome. edit the hdr and clamp manualy the sun in the HDR at something like 1-2 by painting on top of the overbright sun.
my boss came with all those tweaks after looking at my render because he was used to that bug, so I guess it's not something new...

Just wanted to know if anything came out of the scene I sent. I am having this over and over again, in nearly every render I do...

                  Regards

I had this problem a lot of times... the way I got it sort of fixed was to use Clamp at 1-4 value... Other than that its noisy whh.

Hope there will be fix for fireflies.

                    Thanks, bye.

For the 3.x builds, we added an option to clamp reflection rays; it's lame but I can't think of anything else that doesn't bring other issues...

                      Best regards,
                      Vlado

                        Vlado,
thanks for the information. That sounds interesting. But what do you mean with "it's lame"?

Because it produces an image with slightly incorrect brightness, similar to the clamp output option in the color mapping settings. Still it can be quite useful.

Hayy it works! Yea it is different but better that quick fix rather than not having anything for a long time and fireflies everywhere.

                              Thanks Vlado !

                                Where/when do we get a 3.x build?
