  • Fastest vray IES shadow solution

    Hi,
What is the better "speed performance wise" shadow to pick up from IES.
    Raytrace
    Vray shadow
    shadow map...

I have plenty (200) columns to wash wall with IES for 2000 frame and wonder how to cut down rendering time.

I already untick specular from such light.

    Thanks

    Hello there,

First we would like to apology about the delay of our answer.
IES lights are rendered much slower than any other lights.
Raytrace shadows should calculate faster that other two types - but the result won't be as good as them - the shadows and the illumination will be very strong unlike IES which usually introduce a very soft illumination and shadows.
ShadowsMap should be faster than Vray Shadow - and if your animation is fly-through you can pre-calculate a single shadow-map and use it for the entire animation - this will save us some time and will produce less flickering.
Vray Shadow will produce the best result but it will need more time for rendering depending on the level of noise you want to have.
