  • Render Elements parameters won't wire up

(Edited to clarify -- these actually will wire up; it's mostly an issue of the parameter names not being visible)

Minor issue, something that maybe should be looked into...

I have a scene where the camera is dollying up to a character and I have a VRayZDepth element handling the creation of the ZDepth buffer. I want to wire up the parameters of the VRayZDepth minimum and maximum depth parameters to have them update relative to the distance to my subject and maintain certain metrics on the depth buffer image.

The first thing I noticed is that when I go to wire up these parameters, the two values under VRayZDepth in Render Elements show up as "?? : Bezier Float" -- not as their control names (i.e. "zdepth min" or "zdepth max").

Obviously, I can work around this but while I was in there looking at what was going on, I noticed that other Render Elements parameters, such as the VRaySelfIllumination "multiplier" parameter has the same issue. Shows up as "?? : Bezier Float" in the Curve Editor and Wire Parameters dialogs.

Sure would be nice to be able to wire all these parameters up with their names showing -- maybe this was just overlooked.
