  • VRay 2.4 & proxies

    I have found a bug, I think?

I can't seem to render any proxies created in older versions of VRay, they simply are ignored. It will however render proxies created by the current version (2.4).
Check out my (rarely updated) blog @ http://macviz.blogspot.co.uk/

Works fine for me for a number of old files. If you have a proxy that doesn't render, can you send it to me at vlado@chaosgroup.com

I kind of have the same problems. People Proxys i created in 2.0 (or some version before 2.4) won't be rendered. The are loaded and shown in wireframe. But skipped in the rendering. I already checked for render-visibility. Everything is on for rendering.

      Seems weird to me.

Tested on another machine with 2.3 still installed it worked fine.

Are the proxies scaled at all? Either scaled in the object properties or in the proxy options?

Yes, it was the scale thing; they render fine with the latest patch.

We have a similar problem with old proxies in Vray 2.4, the Proxies are rendered with the right scale but in the worng place, there are all render at the world origin even though there are shown correctly in the viewport.

Can you attach a simple problematic proxy here ?
If it was that easy, it would have already been done

Renders fine with me. Maybe you are using the first 2.4 , please download and install 2.40.03 and try it.
