  • Flickering animation (please help)

    Hey guys,

I am working on this project and i have to render three shots where this sign is hopping with some dossiers. I rendered a shot wich was fine since there were only 3 dossiers but then i rendered the first shot and i was horrified by the flickering of the gi/shadows between the white pages of the dossiers as can be seen in the little animation.

I have tried almost everything i know of to render moving objects correctly. I have followed this technique:
    http://www.trinity3d.com/tutorials/v...ps/index.shtml

but the flickering remains and even gets worse when i use 3 or 5 frame interpolation.

Brute force is a no go since the result is different and render times are extremely long in comparison to the irradiance and lightcache mode.

best results i had with normal settings i have used but even these are quite unusable.

    Here are the settings.

I really hope one of you can help me with this problem.

Thanks in advance for the effort.

You can post a small part of your scene and we can help you with settings quicker. There is many threads on this forum regarding issue of flickering, none provide a one click solution however. I can tell you from your settings that you must increase your samples for Hsubdivs. Try 150/100, though this will produce longer render times it will reduce the flickering. You also don't need to go -3/0, you can try -3/-1. Lastly try this without light cache, your scene does not appear complex enough to need light cache, using just irradience map should be enough. Are you using a dome light for illumination? this can also relate to flickering.
