  • Render initial Frame takes ages

Just curious what it might be. When submitting the renderjob through backburner, the first frame of an animation takes ages. The following frames go as planed. A fix would be to store the irr maps locally on c:\. The Linux server that stores the maps and irr maps is connected with gigabit. While loading the scene i tested the bandwidth, and grabbed the irr through the explorer. Speed was 122mb/sec. Is somewhat/thing limiting the bandwidth during ini?

    Cheers
    Ralf

I think the problem is the reading of the irradiance map - we do this in very small chunks, which might be a problem for the network. It is on the "to do" list to optimize this.
