  • DR not picking up node

So I am rendering a large image and one of my nodes happens to have lost the drives that are mapped on the network - So I've gone into the node and added all the relevant drives and everything is fine on that end...

My understanding was that VRay will add nodes even mid-render, but this one doesn't seem to be being added at all. Do I have to stop the render and start it again, or is there something else going on here?

It happen to me few times that Vray pick up extra node as it become available but its not 100%.... u usually have to restart render. Maybe it just takes a while to pick up node?

    Thanks, bye.

V-Ray will count the render nodes at the beginning of the render process and will return a number with those that are being connected and ready. So for the current frame only this number of nodes will be used. If you run a spawner on more machines (during the render process) and they are already added in DR list, V-Ray will try to connect them for the next frame (or render).

I'm not sure whether the issue with lost mapped drives is V-Ray connected, but can you post the error messages (if there are any) in the V-Ray log from the workstation and problematic render node?
