    Hi Everyone,

I have a scene where I have a lot of buildings on a night scene, those buildings are lit from the inside with some vray lights, they all look nice and everything is cool. I have road lamps also and those look good too, but for the cars I have some vraylight materials assigned on the front headlights to generate the lights being on so it affects the road when cars move by. I think this is causing a lot of flickering of light in some places .

Anyone has had any similar experience before? Or anyone knows a way to fix this?

    cheers

i would not use vraylight mateials for the headlights since headlights use alot of power to illuminate. You might be getting issues because the lightmtl is a bit limited when using alot of power. I would use either some spotlights parented to the headlights or some vray lights.

Bu the headlights is some thing I cant even see as object, because IM using a script for the traffic , and the cars are only box instances If I have to manually assign spotlight or vraylights to 200-300 cars that would be quite a task

man thats a tough one, because in order for you to see the lightmaterials hit the floor you could have to give it alot of power and it would cause longer render times. Is there no way for you to have base models with the lights setup and then run the script? If not try cranking on the subdivs of the lightmaterial (direct illum) and give that a whirl.

As kriscabrera15 said , VrayLightMtl is not the best way to simulated headlights.
The best thing to do is to replace them with standard spot lights or with vray lights. You could group the car with the lights and then use the script to generate the traffic.
