  • bad Irradiance map

    Hi

    Is this Irradiance map bad?

The animation is of water passing over a chain ring. The water is meshed using the particle mesher Frost.

I am using the animation (prepass) method to generate the irradiance map.

Does this irradiance map look right? some of the samples look too big?

At the moment the built in preset is set to animation medium.

I probably need to use highter irradiance settings.

    Any tips

The IM looks correct but what about the final-render - does the render has any flickering or artifacts in GI ?
Some samples looks too-big because IM is view-dependent and details far-away from the camera or outside of camera-view could have much larger samples, this is normal.
If the medium GI preset produce didn't give you a good result it would be a good idea to move to High-animation preset in order to produce more accurate GI-solution.
