  • Caustics with standard lights?

I try to create caustics by this nice trick, using standard spot light to shoot photons and excluded from everything else.
It works great until I place a Vray light. With it, no caustics photon where calculated, when I turn it off, I get again photons.

Of course I could always render just a render pass which is although a good idea, but anyway.

The V-Ray light is slightly in front of the spot light therefore it is blocking it. Move one back or the other forward. Alternatively you can set the V-Ray light to invisible so that spot light goes through it.
