max 2012 start error after update to 2.40.04

after installing the update to 2.40.04 for max design 2012 i get the maxscript autoload script error

I think a reinstall should fix it, but I'll try to get more info tomorrow.

Hi kein_plan,
due to some reason there is a file left from older installation as the vrayrtutils.ms script is no longer needed in V-Ray 2.4 and has been removed form the scripts. Can You tell me if the error keeps on occurring on startup or just the first time after installation? Also there is an installation log, so if You haven't reinstalled since the error appeared it might contain information on what files failed to update (if any). If You could send it to me either attached here or by email (alexander.kazandzhiev@chaosgroup.com), the file should be in a path like this "C:\Program Files\Chaos Group\V-Ray\3dsmax 2012 for x64\uninstall\install.log"?

I am sorry for the inconvenience. When the error popup appears, there is an error message printed in the 3ds Max Maxscript listener window, can You quote it for me please?

and could You try the following:
1) uninstall V-Ray manually
2) check if there are any script files left in "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max Design 2012\scripts\startup\" that have names starting with "vray" (i.e. vrayutils.ms, vrayinstall.ms, vraysceneexport.ms vraylightlister.ms)
and "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max Design 2012\scripts\V-Ray". If there are such files please remove them.
3) install again.

hi, after unistalling it manually, there were the files vrayinstall.ms and vrayrtinstall.ms left in the startup folder. i deleted them manually and the next installation was fine. thank you!
