  • Spawner keeps crashing in 2014 SP2

    Hi everbody,

we installed sp2 on one mashine and they seems to be a problem with the new sp2 and vray spawner (2.4004). the spawner starts and max.exe starts loading but after few seconds the process closing without any comment. the spawner trys to open it again and so on, a loop of starting the max.exe then crashing.

anybody could confirm this problem too?

if so is it more a adsk issue or a vray one?

    thanks.
    bye,
    jens

On one of my sites they have 6 slaves, and one of them did the same as you say. After that tried re-applying the service pack, tried re-installing VRAY, but nothing.

Probably going to end up cloning one of the other slaves that work, so we dont have to install everything again
    Kind Regards,

I have the same issue here. spawner.exe is closing max 2014 all the time after it restarts it.
I have this issue on ALL of my renderslaves.

we uninstalled max and vray and re-installed. Still did not fix the issue
seems as soon as max 2014 sp2 is applied in this particular slave, it stops to DR

I had a issue like this on on max 2014, but without the sp2.

It was fixed by reinstalling backburner.

I was going to install sp2... but i guess I'll wait a bit longer.

You need to do at least one backburner render with the machine as slave... otherwise the spawner won't be able to launch 3ds Max successfully.

Yes but this is a slave that was rendering perfectly fine before, until max sp2 was installed. In my case the other 5 slaves are fine WITH sp2, just the one keeps giving hassles...

If you run a render through 3dsmaxcmd.exe do you get any errors?

How do I go about doing that? It has a million parameters and not sure what to set

Here is a link to Autodesk Help about command-line rendering:
                      http://docs.autodesk.com/3DSMAX/15/E...ber=d30e452436

I would recommend to reinstall BackBurner and run one job after that even though all other machines working fine without this procedure.
