  • 3dsmaxcmd and distributed rendering

    Hi,

I'm working on a maxscript to automate some tasks.
I launch 3dsmaxcmd with "filePostOpenProcess" callback maxscript to load geometry in the scene, place camera and then render!
But it doesn't work with Distributed rendering, only the "master" machine renders well, the others render black buckets (it's not a texture problem)...
Anybody knows where is the problem???

    Thanks in advance.

I think that for speed reasons, when doing DR through backburner, V-Ray just transfers the original .max file to the DR servers instead of re-saving a temporary copy of the scene. We can probably add an environment variable to control this behavior if you think it will be useful.

    Best regards,

So we looked into this, but it is not fixable on our end. When 3ds Max runs as a render slave, it cannot save files (the save function simply doesn't do anything).

        Best regards,
