I've been messing with vector displacement maps in 3ds Max recently and I can't seem to get them to work with VRay although according to the documentation it seems like it should work. I finally figured out the setting that Mental Ray likes with vector files using the Diagnostic Files exported by ZBrush. However VRay hates those settings and doesn't render any of the diagnostic spheres correctly, mostly just explosions of points and craziness. (See this link: http://docs.pixologic.com/user-guide...ps/#diagnostic). I'm attempting this by loading the .exr vector map into the Map slot of VRayDisplacementMod and turning on Tangent Vector Displ. As far as I know that's all I should do. In MR it uses a map to place in the Displacement slot of the shader, "Vector Displacement" and it works nice. Anyone gotten Vector Displacement to work? I'm on 3ds Max 2014 x64 SP3, and VRay 3.05.03 (I had VRay 2.45.01 previously and had the same problem.) Thanks in advance

It will not work. We've been looking at this for some time, but I don't know if or when there will be something usable. For the moment, the best way to get vector displacement in V-Ray is through object-space Ptex textures, which unfortunately Z-Brush does not support.
