i'm sure i'm being an idiot, but shadows are not showing up in my reflections - it'd be great if they did. rendered using brute force and light cache.

Very odd; can you post just that part of the scene?

    Best regards,

I got the file; I can reproduce the (d)effect, and now I'm trying to figure out why it happens

Do you have 'use light cache for glossy rays' switched on, and a slight bit of glossiness on the glass material?

If you've got reflection that sharp but still a little glossy you cant really use it. it does the whole reflection in it and turns it to mush.
Something in the vray properties to override this (maybe in the material itself) would be nice - a checkbox under glossiness for 'ignore LC & raytrace' would be a great addition.

I think there might be a slight bit of glossiness, and it is using lc for glossy rays. Will try removing glossiness from the glass and see what that does.

            Cheers

It could be great, maybe something with the material itself would be more flexible ?
