  • White Circles

I have been fighting the "white circle" curse, all nights, and I tried everything! I check all materials lights, but I am still getting them. Now, this has been rendering fine for days, nothing really changed, but now the curse. I didn't add anything, or remove anything, just moved things around. I have the scene clamped, the HDRI is in a dome light and set to invisible... I tried all that I know to try.

it's definitely a material, because here is a material override.

what did you move around? try hiding each of things you moved, and rendering, one at a time might help you narrow it down?
Maybe something got moved so it's hitting a light source?

I actually started that process when I get in this morning. It was that dang dining table, which I just purchased for this scene.

well, it helps when I am not falling asleep at the kitchen table, watching netflix on my Surface, and trying to trouble shoot a scene.

It is amazing how a bad material, and/or geometry, can muck up your entire scene. I had things cranked up so high to try to get rid of the problem that I was seeing 14hr render times. This morning, at about 2 am, I just hit render and went to bed. I got up and saw that it was 7 hours into the render, with 7 hours to go, and I still saw the white dots. Sometimes I get lazy, drop in some geometry, and I don't even look at the materials. I wonder if modeling everything from scratch isn't the way to go, this way you have total control over your scene.
