  • Creating Masks using MultiMatteElement in case of Refractions

    The Scenario:

2 spheres: one inside the other. The outer one is transparent. Both spehres have different materials with different material IDs. MultiMatteElement is set to MatID.

Rendering mattes via the matte pass works like a charm. Just set the refractions from "Affect color only" to "all channels" and voila. You're good to go. Unless....!

Unless I tick the glossy refrations from 1 to something less... 0.99 is enough. Matt pass is pitch black. Is that by design, or is my logic twisted?

Thx for any hints very much.

    Hi,

This issue with Affect channels option is fixed by our developers, but unfortunately the fix is only part of our internal builds for now.
I hope to be able to port this fix to the next V-ray 3.0 beta builds.
