I am battling the light bucket problem again. I rebooted everything, but still, it persists! has there ever been resolution to this? I haven't seen this is months, but all of a sudden, it's back. Nothing has changed on my machines, except for a video card, but I rendered successfully already using it.

you should know by now that you need to give more information.
what is the material, is it dr, are you using saved IRmaps, does it happen when you switch maps off, does it happen when you switch gi off etc. what does it look like in the channels (raw diffuse, ref, gi, lighting etc) - see if it's only happening in one.

I am using DR, but I don't use saved IRmaps. All the channels are showing the same issue. It's not always the same machine either. I can let the render finish, start it again, and another one does it. I'll see what happens when I turn GI off.Originally posted by cubiclegangster View Postyou should know by now that you need to give more information.

Are you rendering with color mapping enabled? It's a bit odd that it's cropping up now after having been running error free... I'd slowly strip the file down and see if you can find the culprit if the problem is only happening with this projectBrendan Coyle | www.brendancoyle.com

same thing with GI off, but with a material override, it's fine. Now, what could cause that? it's obviously rendering the material; it's just rendering lighter.Last edited by glorybound; 02-01-2014, 03:48 PM.Bobby Parker

Do you have the same Max service packs installed on all your nodes?

I am pretty sure I have the same SP, but I'll double check. And, like I said, I have rendered a dozen successful scenes. i removed the double sided material, and all is good.Bobby Parker

Thanks for the information - would it be possible to send us simplified version of the scene including all needed external assets for investigation ?
Let us also know what Vray/Max versions are you using and make sure that the same Vray version is installed on all machines.
Thank you very much in advance.
