  • VRayPhysicalCamera Offset Controls

Just a very minor issue, but one that's caught me out a few times nevertheless...

I quite often use the horizontal offset and vertical offset controls in the VRayPhysicalCamera, and they seem to work exactly how I'd expect.
However, if you load a scene in which one of those controls is used (i.e. not 0.0), it won't offset in the viewport until any other settings are changed with the camera.

Usually this won't cause a problem, but there are times when I'll load a scene, drag a region to render, and then realise a couple of hours later that my region has missed the bit I wanted!
Is there any way VRay can check these values when a file's opened, and update the viewport accordingly?

    Thanks,

    John

Thanks for the pointer; will try to fix it. Which 3ds Max version is this?

    Best regards,
    Vlado

        Hi Vlado,

Sorry to bump an old thread, but did you have any luck sorting this out?

I'm now on Max 2015 and VRay 3.00.07, and I'm still having the same problem.

        Cheers,

Wow, still in 3.00.07? I THINK I didnt have it yet but at the moment it would be devastating to have a render start without the correct offset values since i use them extensively, too! If we would at least know whats causing the error.

I don't know what's causing the error yet. One of the developers is looking into it.

            Best regards,

                    Hi Vlado,

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I've just had this issue cropping up again.
If you load a scene with non-zero values in the camera offset controls, they don't seem to take effect until you modify any other camera settings.

I'm using 3.50.04 on Max 2017. And it's the VRayPhysicalCamera. I never touch the Max one.

I'm pretty sure it's been working OK since my last post in this thread, but it's taken me by surprise a couple of times in the last few days, so if there's a solution, it'd be great to have it sorted.

                    Cheers,

                    John
