    Hello,
    while trying to optimized speed in a rendering, I uncheck the bitmap pager in 3DSmax. I'm working under win7 64 bit and the workstation has 42Gb ECC memory.
    When the scene crash, the memory in used (as seen on 3ds max rendering panel) reach no more than 8GB!
    The max file is only 98M0, and the available system memory is 30Gb.

    Enabling the bitmap pager did not solve anything.
    Switching to BF did not solve the problem neither.
    What happens?

      The problem was cause by the region render int he VFB.
      Without the region render it works fine, with the region render enable in the VFB, max crash after receiving the error message error: UNHANDLED EXCEPTION: Irradiance map thread

        It should work with region-render as well - are you able to reproduce the issue on another scene or it persists only on that one ?
        Which Vray/Max version is that ?

          only on this scene, after a first crash.
          Rendering right now, but will test it again tomorrow and let you know.

            Thank you very much for the scene.
            We got the same crash in our environment.
            Are you using any external plugins/scripts which affects Vray Settings like SolidRock for example ?

              I do have solidrocks installed, but I was not using it when I got the crash.
              I was trying to get ride of the noise while keeping the render time as low as possible, playing with number of max/min value and the color treshold.
