  • 3.0 stereo problem with vrayRT in CPU mode

It looks like there may be a bug with the stereo option for vrayRT in CPU mode in the official 3.0 release.

Not exactly sure what the problem is but it seems to be double sizing the view/render window size horizontally but only rendering from one camera and then trying to composite that into a stereo image. I'm only seeing this when I'm in CPU mode. In GPU mode everything looks correct.

Also to see the full stereo image in the main active view I have to zoom in or out at least once or it looks like cropped version of what is really being rendered. I think vrayRT stereo has always done this but it once again confused me when I was trying to compare the active shade window with the stereo window.

Here are some example images of what I'm seeing.

CPU with stereo on = 2x horizontal width but single camera. Wrong render view and broken stereo image

Thanks for the pointer; it is indeed a bug and we'll fix it. We'll be uploading a patch at the end of next week anyways Let me know if you need the fix sooner.

    Best regards,
    Vlado

I'm not in the middle of anything critical so I think I can live with it for a week.

      Thanks!
