  • (2.4) This scene crashes

I'm not sure if this a Max problem or VRay problem but check it out.

    1. Open the scene, open the material editor
    2. Select the first material called "This Material Here"
    3. Add a checkerboard or any map to the diffuse (or any other) slot. Crash!

      Hi again,

Would it be possible to share more information about this scene and the material especially. It will help our developers to localize the issue and fix it.
Is it created with older V-Ray version? Is it part of more complex scene?
      Thank you.

It was part of a more complex scene, and I think I know why it happened. I have a script that searches for materials of same class, same name, same diffuse colour, etc. and replaces them all with the first occurrence. The script snippet is:

        replaceInstances someOtherMaterial theMaterialToReplaceItWith transferCAs:true

If transferCAs is false, there's no crash.

          Thank you for this update.
It seems that the issue is not related to V-ray, the same thing will happen when using the native 3DS max Standard materials and V-ray plugin is unloaded.
