  • Render mask edges extremely grainy

    Hi,

when ever i render something motion blurred with render mask feature, i get so grainy edges that the fix i rendered is basically unusable. Even raising sampling settings to obscene values, i still can not get edges to be clear, yet my rendertimes shoot through the roof. Is there any special trick to get clean edges of masked object with motion blur?

    Hello,

Do you happen to have any irradiance maps, light cache or caustics previews enabled ? If so - try to disable the previews and see if edges clear.

If this is not the case - could you give us a sample scene to check what is going on ?

    Best Regards,

I use light cache, that could indeed be the issue. I will try to disable precalc. visualization. Unfortunately in case it does not work, i can not share this particular scene, even with Chaosgroup, as there is some unreleased product under very restrictive NDA.

If the issue still persist, you can try to replace all object with a simple one and send us the file for further investigation. Please just make sure the issue is reproducible with the newly created scene.
