  • vectormap rendering problem max2014sp5 vray 2-4004

    hi,
has anyone an idea if this is a max or vray renderproblem or any tips to get it rendered clean in the background?
    it`s a vectormap as a blendmap.the test.zip is an .ai file
same happens if the border of the vectormap is hard.
...else the whole rendering of this very easy scene seems to get a very "heavy" process. if you render this with easy maps and daylight illumination calculation it seems to sink

    thanks for help

    Hi Thomes,

I made one render with your scene file without changing anything and the result is different than the one you have attached.

Would it be possible to provide more details about the setup, how can i replicate the same render result?

I made another test end everything works fine thought.

Only difference is that my 3DS Max is SP3.

      hi tashko,

did you unzip the .ai file? did you successfully loaded this .ai into the vectormap slot?i think the path will not be the same as here
then you should get the same result.

      thanks for looking into

Thanks that was the problem, I had to edit the path manually.

However, the issue seems to be in the way that 3DS Max bitmap node handles .AI vector files. The issue persist when render the map using the Default Scanline renderer and even in the shaded viewport.

Make sure that you have exported the file from illustrator using the settings recommended by Autodesk here:
