  • Scene lighting by a Fireplace

    Hello,
what will be the best practice to recreate a scene lighting done with a fireplace for a still image according to your own experience.
The fireplace itself will not be visible directly from the camera, but it will be seen in the reflection.

1/HDRI: To be snap because there is not HDRI on the market place to my knowledge
2/ Fake HDRI create from with photoshop, could work for the lighting but not so sure for reflection
3/ Using some particule fire effect then convert it to mesh, probably not worth it!
4/ single vray plane with a bitmap fireplace mask, could work for the lighting but not so sure for reflection
5/a mix of theses technic and an heavy photoshop post prod, but that's may be to tricky. Like varay plane with bitmap for the lighting and some photoshop for the reflection.

    Thanks

download the phoenix demo, use the campfire scene. Solves both your lighting and reflection issue.
