  • Vray Clipper is buggy

    Hi all

Was about to use VrayClipper for a project but had to give up as it is unusefull -
    In the attached image :
    1. the blue arrows refer to some vertical artifacts from a wall above the clipping level
    2. The black arrow refer to a strange semi transparent area with lots of distortions that look likethe volume of the geometry above the clipping level.

    Regards

I didn't take the time to report the bugs, but lighting is not the same beetween clipper and vray camara clipping.
So it can't be used at this stage in production anyway.

      Hello,

Looking at the image seems like both problems are related to overlapping faces of geometry. This is a known limitation of the VRayClipper and we are looking for ways to solve it. If You could share a part of the scene I can check for sure.

About the lighting and camera clipping - by default the clipper removes everything above it so it will produce different lighting. You could try the "Affect lights" option which is ON by default. If it is off - then the lighting on geometry not intersecting the clipper should be as if the clipper is disabled.
