  • Vray Environment Fog

Im using Vray Environment Fog and Vray SunSky, my scene renders in decent time with my current settings, but when I add the "DefaultVRaySky (VraySky)" to the "fog color" of my VRayEnvironmentFog, my render times become super high. I remember seeing a video by Escape Studio a few years ago on how to solve this, but this video is taken down now.

Does anyone know if I need to take additional steps to get the VRaySky to work in my fog color for the "VrayEnvironmenFog"?

Basically I have a huge outdoor scene so my fog distance is at max 83333'. Fog height: 3500'. Using Scatter GI of just 2 and subdivs of 24. Only light is the Vray Sun.

    Hope this helps,

    Thanks!

    Updated:
It looks like the render speed is fine now, but my scene gets VERY blow out when rendering. Only happens when turning the fog color on using "DefaultVRaySky" on my "VrayEnvironmentFog"

Anyway to keep this from happening? Using same settings as above.

    Hi,

Could you try to use separate Sky map as an Env. fog color texture and turn On the Specify sun node option. Then lower the sun intensity multiplier.
Most probably your sky texture is too bright.
