  • HDRI Specular problem

    Hi

    I have a problem when lighting my scene with a HDR dome light.

    As you can see in the pictures, the specular from the dome light creates a long band of extremely bright pixels.
    The only way to remove it, is to untick the affect specular. - I have tested a lot of other settings, but with no change...!

    I'm using vray 3.00.04 and 3DS 14 - but I have experienced it before in many scenes and different versions. What to do?

    Are you sure you have mapped the HDR map correct? So it become spherical around the scene in the light?
    Never had such specular artifacts with my HDR-dome lights.

    ...forget Warp 9, engine-room please switch to Vray-speed...

      Yeah, I certainly thinks so. It's set for Spherical in the mapping type and its a standard HDRI format.

        Can you post just a part of that scene or send it to vray@chaosgroup.com so that we can check what's going on?

          DOH, just found out that the dome light was scaled 254%...huhmmmm - PROBLEM SOLVED.

            Hmpf. Yes, but it still should render correctly. Will make a note to look into it.
