  • Vray 3 DR rendering not responsive with Backburner

    Hello,

I've tried to search for this particular issue but to no avail.

    my setup:
Vray 3.00.04 with nodes and licences available
    3Ds Max 2012 product update 12
    Backburner 2014

Created a brand new scene with basic metallic balls to test with. But happens with multiple files.

Rendering locally from my workstation (and others on network) DR spawners activate immediately and render without issue.

Send same render through backburner to the same workstation and the spawners do not activate at all.

    Screen shots attached.

We were previously using Vray 2.4.04 and all was working fine

    Any help appreciated, Thanks
    Christiaan

Do you get any warnings or error messages in the backburner server log?

    Best regards,
    Vlado

Hmm, and what about the V-Ray log file? We tested this here and it seems to work fine, generally. So we have to figure out what's the problem on your machine...

        Best regards,

ok. Where does the Vray Log file save to?
Is it a separate file to one's created when rendering locally?

Usually it's called vraylog.txt in the temp folder for the current user; however this may be changed in the .max file.

Shall i email the Vraylog files to you? It says the upload limit is 20kb for text files?

                  i've just sent them.

Would the port numbers be any different to what Backburner was using with previous versions? I only ask as this is a new tab in the DR settings page.

                  TCP/IP Port Numbers
Distributed rendering works over TCP/IP and requires the following ports:
                  Renderer type
                  Port number
                  Port type
                  Production renderer 20204 TCP/IP
                  Production renderer 20205 UDP
                  RT renderer 20206 TCP/IP
Port 20205 is only used by render servers to broadcast a message that they are ready to join an ongoing DR rendering.

                  Thanks

i kind of have a problem with dr as well.......
Being writting to support team but no solution.
dr works with backburner but one one sys takes part.
                    no hyperthreading takes part.

but with all the same setup and vray 2.4 all works fine
                    Please help if possible

Do you use the option to save the DR host list in the scene? It may be that it doesn't work correctly, but I'm looking into it now to check if this is the case.

                      Best regards,
                      Vlado

                        Hi guys
                        I am totally existed....
                        Found my mistake.
                        All now works fine....

                        With a1 option
only one sys works throught backburner and no hyperthreading,

                        With q2 option
All sys work and also hyperthreading.

Render would take long to start as i call presets which were save in older v-ray versions......

I am extremely sorry to make all these mistakes and keep asking for help...

Love u v-ray guys for all the support.
                        Regards

Ok, that's good, but it might point to a problem with the "Save hosts to scene" option. Do you want to use only av1-av5 for rendering? Or the machine with BB has a different list of render servers?

                          Best regards,
                          Vlado

i send all my render via av1 only.
and i use av1,av4,av5 for rendering.
The other sys are old one. so i dont use them for rendering any more.
                            Thanks alot
