No reflections from matte object?

hi there,

I´m having trouble getting reflections from a matte object in the scene:

I have a boat placed in an ocean /Plane with vraydisplacement and ocean Material). Now if I need to rerender only the boat, I would Set the ocean to "Matte object" and Alpha to -1.0.
But then the reflections in the ocean don´t show up in the boat, only the diffuse color does.
Is this a bug in my Build (Vray 3004) or am I doing something wrong?
Because as far as I remember this setup worked before...

problem fixed...no idea if I messed something up or the scene file simply got corrupted, but I used and older save and recreated it and now it works as it is supposed to...
