  • Render Mask limitation

    Hello

As we expected, Render Mask is one of the most useful new features of VRay 3.0 for us. But we're facing a crazy llimitation, for which we haven't found any workaround so far: lights objects (rect lights in our case) are taken into account to "cut-out" objects selection, just any other objects .... it's an hard one !! do you guys have any idea about a workaround, please ? or is it a bug / feature limitation ??

    Thanks in advance

    Regards.

    Hello,

If you mean that if an invisible light is in front of a selection then it renders black - yes it is a known limitation. Currently when a camera ray hits an object - if it is not in the render selection - it is not rendered at all even if it is transparent. You could add the light to the selection but this will expose everything behind it.

We are looking for a better solution to this limitation.

    Best regards,
