Hi,
The title might be a bit wrong but I couldn't explain this short. This is not exactly a problem as I know what I did wrong but the results I got in RT were different from those in production, and I would like to point them out. Maybe it's a know 'problem', maybe it's not.
I made a very simple scene to point out the difference, don't mind the crappy settings or whatnut. Here it goes:
I have a plane which sole purpose is to reflect an environment bitmap (with opacity map) in a LightMTL and a box with a reflective mirrorlike material. The normals of this plane are facing away from the mirror that has to reflect this plane. I know this is wrong, but Vray RT shows what it is that I want (a reflection of the bitmap), while the production render shows a black silhouette. In the attached jpg's, you'll see the difference between production (black reflection = correct, because wrong normals) and RT. When the normals are flipped both RT and production show a consistent result.
